The Edward Teller Education Center, ETEC, is a University of California
collaborative. Its mission is to enhance the quality of K-14 education
in science and technology by providing professional development
programs for teachers and enrichment programs for students. Specifically,
these opportunities are targeted to align and support the California
subject matter standards and the teacher's needs as identified
by teachers, school districts, and county offices of education.
The service area for ETEC is the San Joaquin Valley and the LivermoreTri-Valley
area.

The Santa Clara County Biotechnology Partnership's mission is
to improve education for high school science students by providing
access to exciting hands-on biotechnology curriculum, and supporting
laboratory equipment. SCCBEP offers a weeklong teacher training
every August, and loans mobile labs to teachers who have completed
thier training programs. For more information about SCCBEP programs

San Joaquin Bioechnology Education

The San Joaquin Biotechnology Consortium was formed by the San
Joaquin County Office of Education and area high schools to provide
9-12 teachers with professional development and the curriculum
and resources needed to make students aware of the impact and
complexity of biotechnology.

The Bay Area Biotechnology Education Consortium (BABEC) is a regional
network of local education partnerships based in the San Francisco
Bay Area. BABEC is dedicated to increasing student understanding
of key concepts in molecular biology, and raising student awareness
of applications of the derived biotechnology.
